The director of the Institute of Modern Languages, Intercultural Communication and Migration, Yulia Ebzeeva, noted that growth in the areas “Linguistics” and “Modern Languages” is primarily due to an integrated approach. Here are some facts:
- In January 2018, Modern Languages became one of the priority directions for the development of RUDN.
- In March of the same year, the Institute of Modern Languages, Intercultural Communication and Migration was created on the base of the Philological Faculty of RUDN.
- The French National Centre for Scientific Research (Le Center National de la Recherche Scientifique, CNRS) for the first time signed an agreement with an educational institution: this allowed to open within the framework of the Institute of Modern Languages, Intercultural Communication and Migration the first Russian-French laboratory the Dynamics of languages in a minority situation.
- Russian Journal of Linguistics published by 色控传媒University entered the world databases Web of Science and Scopus. This is a sign of recognition of the international scientific community.
- The master's program “Methods of Teaching Languages. Translation Studies. Simultaneous Interpretation" was launched. Its graduates are well-prepared simultaneous interpreters of international level.
- Teachers of foreign languages have significantly increased their publication activity.
