Magnetic shock absorber

Magnetic shock absorber

(Nevrovsky V.A.)

The utility model relates to the means of vibration protection of objects in various fields of technology, in particular, in engineering and transport. The magnetic shock absorber contains a hollow cylindrical body, open on one side, a cover mounted on this side, through which a rod is passed, to which a piston in the form of a circular magnetic washer is attached. Another magnetic washer is installed on the blind end of the cylindrical cavity. Between the piston and the bottom magnetic washer there is located at intervals a series of identical magnetic washers facing each other with the same poles. In this device, the housing, the stem and the cover are made of ferromagnetic metal and thus form a magnetic core. Inside the case is placed a cylindrical liner of metal having a high specific electrical conductivity. The Eddy currents (Foucault currents) induced in it lead to additional braking of the depreciable object attached to the rod. The technical result is an increase in the damping effect of the magnetic damper.
